Building Skills. Enhancing Productivity. Driving National Development.
Empowering artisans with tech-driven training, official licensing, access to essential toolkits, and promoting industry standards to elevate skills and drive professional excellence.
Established by Decree 47 of 1971 (as amended in 2011), the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is a Grade ‘A’ Parastatal operating under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. For over 50 years, we have been Nigeria’s leading agency dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and accelerating the acquisition of vital industrial and commercial skills required for national economic development.
Our Core Mandate
We are strategically positioned to drive economic growth and enhance human performance across both public and private sectors by:
Developing Indigenous Manpower: Generating a robust pool of skilled, local talent to manage various sectors of the economy.
Setting Standards: Formulating, monitoring, and certifying vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial training standards nationwide.
Empowering Businesses: Evaluating external training facilities, providing direct training resources, and assisting organizations in finding the right development programs.
Driving Innovation: Conducting and supporting actionable research into modern industrial training practices.
Our Impact & Programs
Through over five decades of consistent operation, the ITF has raised training consciousness and boosted productivity across the nation. We deliver on our goals through key initiatives, including:
Direct & Vocational Training: Crafting specialized apprentice and management programs for youths and professionals.
SIWES Administration: Bridging the gap between theory and practice by managing the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme.
Employer Support: Offering up to a 50% reimbursement on training contributions to registered employers who invest in their workforce.
At ITF, we don't just train, we build the capacity, productivity, and value-added performance that fuels national growth.
